TRONDHEIM, Feb 25, 2026 – Villa Nord is delighted to announce the appointment of Helene Skjenneberg as General Manager of the first boutique hotel in Trondheim.

With roots dating back to the city's first hotel from 1837, Hôtel du Nord, the beautiful buildings in Dronningens gate are currently undergoing a complete transformation. When Villa Nord opens its doors in November 2026, it will carry forward nearly 200 years of hospitality traditions in a historic setting where heritage meets the present, and the timeless quality of craftsmanship takes center stage.

Helene Skjenneberg brings extensive experience from the hospitality industry, with a background spanning both operational leadership and strategic development. Throughout her career, she has led complex projects through startup and transformation phases, including playing a key role in the development of Sommerro, one of Nordic Hotels & Resorts’ most acclaimed destinations. Most recently, she served as Hotel Director at Hotel Riviera

At Villa Nord, she will lead the creation of a boutique hotel experience built around genuine hospitality, tailored service, and exceptional attention to detail. Together with her future team, she will shape a destination that honors the site's rich history while delivering contemporary guest experiences.
